We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at HF Holidays. As a Sous Chef, you will play a key role in supporting the Head Chef in the preparation and service of our traditional British menu.

Our Alnmouth Country House is a retreat for up to 56 guests who stay with us for guided or self-guided walking tour holidays. We have a fixed number of guests each week, and our mealtimes are planned in advance. Your role will involve managing the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, including implementing health and safety protocols, developing and supervising our Chef, Kitchen Assistant, and Kitchen Porter staff.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence
  • Implementing health and safety protocols
  • Developing and supervising staff
  • Stocktaking and ordering from external suppliers

We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience at supervisory level in a busy professional kitchen
  • Mature approach to food preparation and the business
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends

Desirable skills include experience working with fresh ingredients and creating traditional British cuisine.
