Company Overview:

Our client is a prominent entity within the global testing and inspection sector, boasting a workforce of approximately 25,000. They offer a diverse array of specialized mechanical testing services tailored for various industries, including automotive, aerospace, and medical.

As a result of ongoing growth and investment, the organization is expanding its team at a state-of-the-art testing facility. They are currently seeking a Graduate Test Engineer to join their ranks. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that testing procedures are executed seamlessly and accurately, adhering to established standards.

Role Responsibilities:

The Graduate Test Engineer will initially spend 2-4 months shadowing experienced Test Engineers across different shifts before transitioning to lead the Night shift operations.

The facility features one of the largest test chambers in Europe for evaluating Electric Vehicle batteries, conducting a variety of tests, including:

  • Climatic Testing
  • Vibration Testing
  • Salt Corrosion Testing
  • Shock Testing

Key responsibilities include:

  • Receiving project kick-off instructions from the Project Manager or Lab Supervisor.
  • Designing the necessary instrumentation and control strategies for each test.
  • Reporting on the status of testing projects to the Project Manager or Lab Supervisor.
  • Executing test setups and conducting tests with support from test technicians.
  • Creating comprehensive test project reports.
  • Monitoring and ensuring the proper operation of testing equipment and cables, reporting any failures.
  • Identifying laboratory equipment needs and communicating with the Laboratory Supervisor for procurement.

Once adequately trained, the Graduate Test Engineer will transition to the newly established Night shift.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate for this Graduate Test Engineer position will possess:

  • A relevant degree in Mechanical Engineering, such as Automotive, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Comfort and capability to work independently during night shifts.
