Job Title: Engineering Lecturer (Mechanical)

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Mechanical and Aviation Engineering Lecturer to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Early Careers Team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our apprentices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging and effective teaching materials for advanced manufacturing programs, aligned with Apprenticeship standards and BAE Systems' learning delivery models.
  • Contribute to the development of an inclusive blended learning approach, utilizing CANVAS as a platform, to enrich curriculum delivery and promote a positive learning culture.
  • Participate in curriculum planning, monitoring, and evaluation, ensuring the delivery of high-quality learning experiences that meet the needs of our apprentices.
  • Prepare and mark assessments, providing constructive feedback to support the rapid progress of our apprentices.
  • Embed the delivery of maths and English throughout the curriculum, ensuring a well-rounded learning experience.
  • Undertake apprentice performance reviews, setting targets to support the continuous development of our apprentices' skills, knowledge, and behaviors.
  • Produce timely and informative reports on apprentice progress, ensuring proactive data monitoring and analysis.
  • Participate in apprentice interviews, enrolment, and induction, as well as open days and enrichment activities.

Requirements:

  • A teaching qualification (level 3) is mandatory, paired with experience in developing blended learning resources and delivery on a VLE platform.
  • Experience delivering on Manufacturing and Engineering programs up to Level 4.
  • Experience in Mechanical Principles and/or Thermo, Engineering Science, Dynamics.
  • Able to work collaboratively to develop, share, and deliver innovative and stimulating blended teaching and learning resources.
