About the Role

We are seeking dedicated and experienced BTEC practitioners to join our team as Standards Verifiers for the BTEC RQF qualification in Sport.

As a BTEC Standards Verifier, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that national standards are upheld across all centers delivering BTEC Sport qualifications. You will be responsible for sampling learner work and internal verification decisions to confirm compliance with established guidelines.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough sampling of learner work within defined parameters to assess assessment outcomes and internal verification processes against national standards.
  • Provide valuable support and guidance to centers regarding sampling procedures and best practices.
  • Generate comprehensive reports for both centers and Pearson, outlining the sampling undertaken, findings, and support provided.
  • Implement appropriate sanctions when flawed assessment or internal verification decisions or processes fall short of national standards.
  • Develop targeted action plans to assist centers in addressing any identified issues and ensuring compliance with national standards.
  • Collaborate with centers to facilitate the implementation of identified actions and promote continuous improvement.
  • Maintain clear communication with Pearson and centers, providing regular updates on SV activities as per service-level agreements.
  • Contribute source materials for the standardization of center assessors, internal verifiers, and lead internal verifiers as required.
  • Undertake any additional tasks assigned by Pearson to support the overall quality assurance process.
Experience & Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you will require:

  • Proven experience in delivering and assessing vocational qualifications, such as BTEC QCF, BTEC NQF, Higher Nationals, or Work Based Learning.
  • A strong commitment to quality assurance principles and practices.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the specifications for the Sport subject area you will specialize in.
  • Minimum of one year's full-time teaching experience within the relevant Sport subject and level during the past eight years.

Training:

Successful candidates will be required to complete an online standardization exercise. Upon successful completion, you will participate in face-to-face sector-specific training for the RQF sectors you have been appointed to.
