Position Overview:

Berry Recruitment is seeking a skilled Metal Fabrication Specialist to join a dynamic Production and Manufacturing team. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient and safe execution of various welding and fabrication tasks.


Objective:

The primary goal is to ensure the timely and safe completion of all assigned work in accordance with project specifications and operational requirements.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute high-quality welding on sheet metal, tubing, plate, and structural steel components.
  • Perform installation and repair tasks on equipment, including pipes, plates, valves, and other process machinery.
  • Construct welded fabrications based on client designs, including items such as metal furniture, seating arrangements, balconies, and staircases.
  • Fabricate various components such as tubing, frames, and boxes from technical drawings.
  • Adhere to all site regulations and company standards.
  • Understand and follow all safety protocols related to hot work activities.
  • Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn correctly and maintained in a clean and presentable condition.
  • Deliver completed projects to a high standard of quality.
  • Maintain a professional and safe working environment at all times.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the Line Manager.

Additional Duties:
  • Identify the appropriate welding equipment or techniques based on project requirements.
  • Prepare components for welding according to specifications, including cutting materials to precise measurements.
  • Utilize angle grinders to prepare parts for welding.
  • Align components using measuring tools and secure them for welding.

Applicants should possess a strong understanding of welding and fabrication techniques, demonstrating proficiency in various welding processes, including TIG, MMA, and MIG welding on Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel for both Pipe and Plate applications. The ability to interpret engineering drawings and accurately measure for fabrication is essential.


Compensation starts at £20.00 per hour, with additional overtime rates applicable. The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend and call-out work required.
