We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Export Customs Supervisor to join our team at DACHSER. As a key member of our export customs team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and effective clearance of exports, while adhering to company and external authority customs requirements and legislation.
Key Responsibilities- Proactively supervise the export customs team in a dynamic and challenging environment, ensuring a quality service is provided to all customers.
- Effectively manage the day-to-day operations of the export department in the absence of the Export Customs Manager.
- Respond to requests for customs services, providing effective and efficient solutions to facilitate adherence to operational and service deadlines.
- Continually review processes to strive for efficiencies without compromising the service level and/or quality of work administered.
- Allocate daily tasks to the team of export declarants, ensuring they meet their objectives.
- Accountable for the general day-to-day management of the declarations assigned to the team.
- Produce, analyse, and manage identified Key Performance Indicators for the customs activities, ensuring targets are met.
- Support the department in resolving day-to-day issues and queries.
- Liaise with export supervisors from other shifts to ensure a frictionless handover and effective completion of the overall workload.
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures for Customs and AEO processes.
- Collaborate with internal customers to maximise synergies and promote cross-team and branch interactions and communications.
- Direct liaison with the Export Customs Manager, external customers, Customs authorities, and Head Office Kempten as necessary.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a supervisory role.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a customs-related role.
- Good educational background.
- Good knowledge of Third Country Customs regulations.
- Good comprehension of Customs procedures and formalities.
- Working knowledge of and familiarity with UK CDS system and proprietary software systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook programs and ASM Sequoia.
- Awareness of global geography.
- Leadership skills with a proven track record.
- Highly adaptable and able to work under pressurised situations.
- Self-motivated and able to take responsibility to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and analysis skills.
- Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt their style and language to suit the customer, department, or level they are dealing with.
- Ability to create and maintain harmonious relationships with internal and external customers.
- Ability to influence and impact people across all levels in the organisation.
