We are in search of a skilled and proactive Interim Financial Operations Leader to support our private equity-backed scale-up within the Financial Services sector.

Reporting directly to the Chief Finance Officer, this role will act as the main resource for all significant technical accounting inquiries and will oversee various projects, which include assessing and enhancing financial controls, automating processes, conducting balance sheet evaluations, and integrating systems of newly acquired entities.

Location: Buckinghamshire (3-4 days per week onsite)

Contract Duration: 3-6 months +

Candidate Rate: £ per day (outside IR35)

Key Responsibilities of the Interim Financial Operations Leader

  • Oversee month-end procedures and reporting, ensuring the accuracy of the balance sheet and all general ledger entries.
  • Evaluate existing processes and protocols within the finance department.
  • Offer insights, recommendations, and solutions to address areas of concern, including inefficient practices and manual workflows.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the organization to ensure processes are effective and appropriate.
  • Facilitate training and professional growth for both current and new finance personnel.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, cash flow statements, forecasts, and key performance indicators.
  • Manage year-end activities, including the year-end audit and statutory financial statements.
  • Assess and enhance controls, policies, systems, and audit procedures.
  • Handle intercompany accounts and review VAT and intrastat submissions.

Requirements of the Interim Financial Operations Leader

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience in a regulated environment is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing and improving financial controls and processes.
  • Exceptional communication abilities and the capacity to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.
