About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineering Manager to join our team at Data Communications Company. As a key member of our Engineering team, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining the key system engineering policies, principles, framework, and artefacts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain system engineering policies, principles, framework, and artefacts.
  • Direct, coach, and support project teams in aligning with Data Communications Company's System Engineering adopted INCOSE framework standards.
  • Drive adoption of the INCOSE Systems Engineering framework by engaging with and influencing key project stakeholders in the value that systems engineering will bring to Data Communications Company customers.
  • Help develop existing Enterprise Architecture tooling, leveraging ArchiMate/UML skills to deliver an agile enterprise architecture fit for the future.
  • Empower the adoption of Systems Engineering within Data Communications Company, working with the Technical Management Team to create and adopt policies to shape this role and ensure maximum value for Data Communications Company and its customers.
Requirements
  • Responsible for the evolution of Systems Engineering principles, artefacts, processes, and framework in Data Communications Company.
  • Responsible for evolving the SEMS/SEMP as the various projects evolve through Data Communications Company's System Engineering Life Cycle.
  • Responsible for coaching all actors (internal and external) involved with delivering engineering artefacts into Data Communications Company's chosen Enterprise Tool (Bizzdesign) using ArchiMate/UML.
  • Responsible for evolving the Way-of-Working in Data Communications Company to streamline System Engineering adoption and improve the quality of delivered artefacts.
  • Work with the Technical Delivery Leads to assure the System Engineering artefacts and ensure they can pass the Data Communications Company Governance.
  • Be the critical point of contact for everything related to Systems Engineering delivery in Data Communications Company and provide guidance, mentoring, and advice to the business.
  • Support the administration function in ensuring that the right SE training is identified and delivered by the relevant training partners.
  • Demonstrable experience in a large to medium scale System Engineering implementation and a critical thinker.
  • Experience in the adoption and transformation of new standards across organisations.
  • Understanding standards-based Systems Engineering, e.g., ISO 15288 / INCOSE Systems Engineering handbook.
  • Experience in leading and managing Engineering matrix teams across multi-technology, multi-party solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to various stakeholder groups, including non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in Governance of System Engineering artefacts.
