Primary Teaching Assistant Opportunity

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant school in South Shields. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and child development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and supportive lessons and activities.
  • Work with small groups or individual children to enhance their learning and development.
  • Assist with planning and preparing classroom resources to promote a positive learning environment.
  • Encourage children's social and emotional development through supportive and nurturing interactions.
  • Monitor and report pupils' progress to the teacher, providing valuable insights into their learning journey.
  • Provide one-to-one support for pupils with additional needs, ensuring their individual needs are met.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with primary-aged children is desirable but not essential.
  • A patient, caring, and approachable nature is essential for this role.
  • A passion for education and child development is crucial for success in this position.
  • Strong communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration with the teaching team.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team, contributing to a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to tasks is essential for this role.
  • An updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service are required for this position.
