Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team at Kier Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing contract costs from inception to completion, ensuring value for money while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cost Estimation and Planning: Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans to ensure accurate financial projections.
  • Procurement and Contract Management: Manage procurement processes, including tender preparation and evaluation, monitoring and controlling project finances, managing variations, and preparing detailed financial reports.
  • Risk and Value Management: Conduct risk, value management, and cost control exercises to identify and mitigate potential risks and optimize project value.
  • Negotiation and Contract Administration: Negotiate and manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience: Hold a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field, with experience working as a Quantity Surveyor.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Possess knowledge of construction processes, contract law, and industry regulations, with excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Transferable Skills: Bring a proven track record in cost planning, budget management, and financial reporting, with the ability to demonstrate transferable skills.
