We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at River Mead School in Melksham. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our students, working closely with teachers to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Support students in all curricular areas, under the direction of the teacher, to develop their physical, intellectual, emotional, and social skills.
- Assist with learning activities, providing support and encouragement to students to develop their knowledge and understanding.
- Prepare activities, ensuring that appropriate materials and equipment are available, and assist in clearing away afterwards.
- Support the preparation and adaptation of teaching aids, games, and worksheets as directed.
- Meet students' pastoral needs, providing praise, comfort, encouragement, reassurance, and care.
- Take responsibility for the welfare and hygiene of students.
- Administer First Aid and medication as required.
- A Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent experience.
- Training in First Aid, or willingness to undertake training.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, supporting the learning and development of students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
