Job Title: ICT Developer

We are seeking an experienced ICT Developer to join our team at Webologix Ltd/ INC. As an ICT Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing virtualization and automation solutions using VMware vRA and vRO.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop blueprints and templates in vRA for virtual machine provisioning and application deployment.
  • Utilize JavaScript for vRO scripting and potentially PowerShell or other scripting languages for vRA customization and automation.
  • Manage and optimize the allocation of virtualized resources, ensuring efficient use of infrastructure and maintaining performance.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to workflows, blueprints, and automation scripts, utilizing debugging tools and log analysis.
  • Configure and customize policies within vRA to ensure compliance, security, and governance in virtualized environments.
  • Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for workflows, configurations, and automation processes.
  • Collaborate with system administrators, network engineers, and developers to implement and optimize automation solutions.
  • Provide training to team members and end-users on the use of vRO and vRA, transferring knowledge about best practices and new features.
  • Implement security best practices in vRO and vRA configurations to ensure a secure virtualized environment.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience writing code in JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience with Python programming language and PowerShell scripting is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and configurations within virtualized environments.
  • Familiarity with JSON, YAML, and CSS languages.
  • Strong understanding of data center infrastructure and cloud services.
  • Familiarity with cloud services and platforms, especially those integrating with VMware solutions like AWS, Azure, or private cloud environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with agile practices and toolsets, including JIRA and Confluence.
  • Passionate about technology and solving IT operations-focused problems.
  • Experience working directly with people to improve their performance, develop skills, and enhance practices.
  • Proven experience with Compute, Hypervisors, Storage, Windows, Networks, and Linux.
  • Keeping up-to-date with current tools, technologies, and trends, particularly in areas like cybersecurity, data privacy, consent, and regulations.
  • Encourage the development of engineers through coaching and mentoring.
  • Consulting in other areas as required to provide different perspectives to programmers or projects.
