Service Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our team at Schindler Group. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance regimes on lift and escalator equipment, ensuring compliance with contract terms and current legislation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out routine servicing of lift and escalator equipment, including minor repair work and replacement of components.
  • Rectify and reduce faults on lift and escalator equipment in cases of breakdown, and check to confirm correct functioning.
  • Conduct routine inspections and adjustments of lift and escalator equipment, and complete service documentation.
  • Carry out advanced fault finding and diagnostic procedures using technical manuals and test equipment, restoring equipment to service.
  • Work in accordance with Schindler Group's Safety and Environmental policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with current UK legal requirements.
Requirements:
  • Experience in lift and escalator servicing, maintenance, or repairs.
  • Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in lift and escalator maintenance or equivalent.
  • Willingness to work towards Schindler Certification Level 3 Red.
  • Advanced electrical and mechanical knowledge, including multi-brand equipment.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Good communication skills at different levels, including clients, service leaders, and inspectors.
