About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated team at Teaching Personnel. The successful candidate will work closely with a pupil in year 4 who has complex social and emotional needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN, both inside and outside the classroom, to ensure they feel integrated within the school day.
  • Assist in the delivery of educational healthcare plans (EHCPs) and differentiated learning activities to cater to the pupil's level of need.
  • Support the pupil in developing essential skills, such as communication, social interaction, and independence, to enhance their overall well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes academic success and social growth.
  • Assist with classroom management, including supporting positive behavior and helping to create a safe and engaging learning environment that fosters a love for learning.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to further enhance your skills and knowledge in SEN support and stay up-to-date with best practices in the field.
About You

The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs and a commitment to inclusive education. You should possess:

  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN, to understand their unique needs and challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents to create a supportive network.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving to address the complex needs of students with SEN.
  • A flexible and adaptable attitude, with the ability to respond to the varying needs of students and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or special educational needs is desirable but not essential, as we provide comprehensive training and support to ensure your success in this role.
