About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team at the Copthorne Hotel Effingham Gatwick. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the hotel's facilities are well-maintained, safe, and operational.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair services and equipment within the hotel and grounds
  • Follow daily task lists as issued by the Chief Engineer or Senior Shift Engineer
  • Carry out maintenance request orders, including plumbing tasks, changing light bulbs, and minor electrical work
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance (PPM) in all hotel areas, identifying and rectifying faults in a prompt and efficient manner
  • Provide a friendly and professional service to guests when in public areas or bedrooms
  • Ensure the care and cleanliness of allocated engineering areas, including the workshop and plantrooms
  • Comply with relevant legislation, including Health & Safety Policy and Fire Regulations
Requirements
  • Plumbing and electrical skills are advantageous
  • A keen eye for detail and ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety in the workplace
  • A team player who can manage their own workload
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends
