The Financial Assistant plays a crucial role in the oversight and execution of accounting tasks within the EU Financial Accounts division. This position is ideal for individuals currently pursuing professional qualifications, as support for studies is included in the employment package. The role offers a flexible work arrangement, allowing for a hybrid model with three days per week at our European headquarters.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage intercompany transactions and conduct comprehensive reconciliations and foreign exchange evaluations for all EU entities. Oversee inventory and fixed asset reconciliations, providing necessary support to the business. Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports for various companies, adhering to US GAAP standards. Review and analyze profit/loss statements and balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis. Contribute to the quarterly and year-end financial statement preparation, coordinating with auditors to ensure compliance with US reporting requirements. Support the production of statutory accounts as needed. Handle specific tax-related matters, including corporate and VAT obligations. Aid in the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasts, delivering updated information to senior management for strategic decision-making. Generate monthly management reports to facilitate effective review and planning. Oversee fixed asset management for relevant entities. Ensure compliance with all SOX regulations across the organization. Participate in the development and enhancement of business control systems. Collaborate with the US Group company. Provide support to the European Financial Accounting Manager and the Finance Team as required. Assist with specific project initiatives. Produce ad hoc reports and analyses as necessary.Desired Qualifications:
We are interested in candidates who possess the following skills and experiences:
Currently pursuing or part-qualified in AAT, CIMA, or ACCA, or holding a degree with a minimum 2:1 classification (desirable if not part-qualified). Consideration will also be given to those qualified by experience. Study support is available. Experience in preparing month-end accounts within a multi-site or departmental organization. Familiarity with a retail environment is preferred. Proficient in advanced Excel and general Microsoft Office applications. Experience with Oracle Financials is advantageous. Knowledge of US GAAP is a plus. Strong attention to detail. Capable of problem-solving and lateral thinking. Excellent communication skills.
