Senior Internal Auditor Job Description

Our client, a leading Oil & Gas operator based in Aberdeen, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Internal Auditor to join their team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Oil and Gas and a proven track record of delivering high-quality internal audits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver and conduct internal audits from the Audit Office UK Annual Audit Plan, following up on open recommendations with owners.
  • Collaborate in the elaboration of the Internal Audit Annual Plan, identifying E&P operational, risk-based, compliance, and corporate governance audits.
  • Lead or collaborate in internal audit engagements and other engagements requested by relevant bodies or Senior Management.
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and internal control environments.
  • Experience of working within a corporate governance framework and role.
  • Relevant experience of Auditing, Internal Auditing, and PowerBI and other data analytic techniques.
  • Experience in managing stakeholder relationships and preparation and presentation of management reports to senior management.
  • Relevant experience of working within an oil and gas sector operator, service company, or consultancy is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's and master's degree in accounting, Finance, Engineering, or other related field.
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) are amongst the preferred certifications.
Working Conditions:

The role requires travelling offshore for certain business requirements and operates according to the regulatory frameworks.
