Financial Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our Finance Team at Playground Games. As a Financial Accountant, you will play a critical role in delivering effective financial processes within the Company and Parent Company standards and timeframes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Month End processes, including reconciliations, journal processing, and completion of month end packs.
  • Prepare relevant information for the Year End Audit process, including maintaining records and providing accurate and timely information to auditors.
  • Maintain appropriate records and prepare returns for Company taxes, including Corporation tax, VGTR, VAT, PSA, and ERS.
  • Provide efficient finance assistance with the companies budgeting process.
  • Assist with ad-hoc reports, projects, queries, and reconciliations as and when requested.
  • Support the purchase processes as and when necessary.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of using Sage, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook and Word, and advanced skills in Excel.
  • Knowledge and previous experience in an accounting role, with a practice background preferred.
  • A professional qualification, ACCA, ACA, or CIMA must be held.
  • Understanding and demonstrable experience of procurement processes.
  • High attention to detail and accurate analytical skills.
  • Professional attitude and ability to work in a confidential manner.
  • An organised approach, planning tasks, and setting realistic timescales.
  • Flexibility to be involved in a number of finance support activities at a time.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with team members and other disciplines.
  • Be a champion for Playground Games and everything we produce.
  • Adhere to company procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
