Teaching Assistant - Special Educational Needs

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs in a dynamic and nurturing educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies tailored to the needs of each student.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.
  • Work closely with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting students with SEN.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or adults with special educational needs, either in a school setting or a similar environment.
  • A patient and empathetic approach, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external professionals.
  • An understanding of different learning needs and strategies to support students with SEN, including knowledge of specific learning difficulties such as autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, dyslexia, and dyspraxia.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to respond to the changing needs of students and the school environment.
