Job Introduction

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Officer to join our New Client Administration team, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the firm's compliance with anti-money laundering and sanctions regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial crime regulations and experience in a risk and compliance function. You will be responsible for reviewing and verifying information provided in new client acceptance forms, conducting comprehensive customer due diligence reviews, and escalating AML and sanctions issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and Verification: Review and verify information provided in new client acceptance forms to ensure compliance with the firm's financial crime policies and procedures.
  • Customer Due Diligence: Conduct comprehensive customer due diligence reviews and analysis of information to establish the corporate structure of a client, including the identification and verification of ultimate beneficial owners.
  • AML and Sanctions: Escalate AML and sanctions issues in accordance with internal processes.
  • Financial Crime Working Groups: Participate in financial crime working groups and wider OGC team discussions.
  • Support to Money Laundering Reporting Officer: Support the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (and Deputies) to resolve any AML concerns.
Requirements
  • Graduate Level: Must be graduate level (or equivalent i.e. have experience in the legal sector)
  • Experience in Risk and Compliance: Previous experience of working in a risk and compliance function is preferred
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Experience and knowledge of anti-money laundering and sanctions regulations
  • IT Skills: Good IT skills with a knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
  • Attention to Detail: Good attention to detail, accuracy / 'getting things right first time'
  • Initiative and Workload Management: The ability to work on own initiative and manage own workload
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills, good interpersonal skills
