We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a background in engineering, fabrication, and machining to join our team in Barnsley. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for ensuring that our range of abrasion-resistant products and services are costed accurately and efficiently while adhering to governing quality standards and specifications.


The Role:

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimations for engineering products, interpreting and understanding 2D/3D engineering drawings, and managing technical specifications in quotations. You will also be responsible for ensuring monthly manufacturing gross profit aligns with company targets and maintaining and documenting estimating standards to reflect actual material and labour efficiencies.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide accurate cost estimations for engineering products.
  • Interpret and understand 2D/3D engineering drawings.
  • Manage technical specifications in quotations.
  • Ensure monthly manufacturing gross profit aligns with company targets.
  • Maintain and document estimating standards to reflect actual material and labour efficiencies.
  • Accurately input customer purchase orders and provide timely order acknowledgements.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives within the department to enhance engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to resolve customer complaints and concerns, ensuring prompt and satisfactory resolutions.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Quality regulations.

Key Requirements:
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in estimating.
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering.

Desirable:
  • Background in fabrication engineering.
  • Familiarity with engineering contracts.
  • Experience using Factory Master system.
