We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Anaesthetic Consultant to join our team at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality anaesthetic care to patients undergoing a range of surgical procedures, including elective cancer, benign, orthopaedic, trauma, and emergency care. The postholder will also contribute to the teaching, education, and training of both undergraduates and postgraduates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality anaesthetic care to patients undergoing surgical procedures
  • Contribute to the teaching, education, and training of both undergraduates and postgraduates
  • Participate in clinical audit and/or service improvement projects
  • Involve in research projects relevant to anaesthesia, critical care, or pain medicine
  • Commit to continuing research towards higher qualification
Requirements
  • MB ChB or equivalent qualification
  • FRCA, MRCP, or equivalent qualification
  • Full registration with GMC
  • CCT in Anaesthesia or expected to attain within 6 months of interview date
Person Specification
  • High standard of clinical skills and expertise in anaesthesia
  • Experience in perioperative management of high-risk patients undergoing complex surgery
  • Clinical experience and knowledge in orthopaedics, trauma, general, urological, and gynaecological surgery
  • Clinical experience and knowledge in transfer medicine and non-theatre anaesthesia
  • ALS training and experience of working in a multidisciplinary team
