Location:

Key Responsibilities:

As a Project Manager, you will:

  • Lead project delivery or specific components within complex programs, reporting to the Senior Project Manager or Portfolio Manager.
  • Collaborate closely with external clients, key stakeholders, and the internal SRC team.
  • Assume full accountability for project outcomes, providing mentorship to Assistant Project Managers to enhance their project management skills.
  • Represent SRC confidently in client-facing meetings.
  • Deliver high-quality project and program management services.
  • Independently manage all project phases from initiation to closure, with minimal supervision on larger projects.
  • Oversee consultant teams and project stakeholders to ensure responsibilities are met, including project scope and deliverables.
  • Assist in generating repeat business and exploring new business opportunities.
  • Maintain diligence and attention to detail to ensure quality project outputs.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients and stakeholders in operational environments.
  • Support client relationships and service delivery in collaboration with senior colleagues.
  • Provide consistent and accurate commercial reporting to both internal teams and clients.
  • Ensure client requirements are met, delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Manage change control processes effectively.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Degree in project management or a related field such as construction or engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience in project management, planning, or engineering.
  • Experience in the rail and construction sectors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent negotiation abilities.
  • Good interpersonal skills and technical project management knowledge.
  • Proactive and innovative mindset with the ability to work independently.
  • Analytical thinking and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project) for report preparation.
  • A commitment to developing a career in project management.
  • Familiarity with TfL Pathway or Network Rail GRIP, PACE methodologies.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of TfL or Network Rail standards and procedures.
  • Understanding of rail processes and experience with bids and proposals.
  • Progress towards professional membership in a relevant discipline (ICE/CIOB/APM).
  • NEC or other project management certifications.
  • Experience in managing complex stakeholder environments.
