Job Description

Role: Financial Analyst - Payments and Innovation

Location: Remote (Flexible Working Arrangement)

Industry: Financial Services and Public Policy

Salary: Up to £40,000 + Bonus and Benefits

The Financial Analyst - Payments and Innovation will work as a supporting policy advisor on a wide range of issues relating to payments and regulatory engagement, with a focus on digital and innovation. You will coordinate activity on key policy issues relevant to domestic and international payments, including legislative developments, regulatory activities, and other key external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to key working groups and committees, writing papers and liaising with senior-level members.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the digital money and payments ecosystem to support policy and advocacy work.
  • Provide regulatory coordination for the team, including keeping a record of upcoming meetings and briefing requirements, and liaising with team members to collate inputs.
  • Engage closely with and support colleagues and groups working on cross-cutting projects and workstreams on issues across payments, innovation, and digital.
  • Provide relevant market and regulatory insights, in addition to market-wide horizon scanning and monitoring, to inform business planning.
  • Responsibility for preparing consultation responses, committee and board papers, and communicating with colleagues both internally and externally.

Desired Skills:

  • Some knowledge of the payments market and how it works would be desirable.
  • Some knowledge of digital and innovation topics, including new digital money such as stablecoins and cryptoassets.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, together with the ability to effectively manage complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with experience of drafting documents in a clear, concise, and accurate way.
