Job Description

As a HGV Driver with Leader Online Ltd, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of goods across various locations. This position requires a valid HGV license and knowledge of vehicle maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

Our ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Transportation Management: Operate HGVs (Class 1 or Class 2) to transport goods to various destinations, ensuring timely and safe delivery as per the schedule.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness, and perform basic vehicle maintenance and report any mechanical issues or defects.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all road safety and traffic regulations, including telematics and driving rules, and ensure compliance with all UK and EU driving regulations and the Working Time Directive.
  • Customer Service: Interact professionally and courteously with clients, customers, road users, and pedestrians, and handle vehicles and loads with care to avoid any possible damages.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid HGV Class 1 or Class 2 license
  • A digital Tachograph Card
  • Excellent knowledge of UK road networks
  • Excellent driving skills and road safety awareness
  • Basic mechanical skills for vehicle checks and minor repairs
  • Strong communications skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility
