Job Title: Carpenter/Fabric Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter/Fabric Engineer to join our team at Invictus Group. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining and repairing the building fabric, with a focus on fire doors, ensuring compliance with safety standards and maintaining a high standard of workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fire Door Maintenance: Install, repair, and maintain fire doors, ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations and standards.
  • Carpentry Tasks: Carry out various carpentry and joinery works, including the repair of internal fixtures and fittings, furniture, and general building maintenance.
  • Fabric Maintenance: Perform general fabric maintenance duties such as repairing walls, ceilings, floors, and doors across the facility.
  • Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations, including fire safety protocols.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and address any issues within the building that may require carpentry or fabric engineering work, working efficiently to resolve these in a timely manner.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the maintenance team to ensure smooth operations, particularly during shift handovers.
Requirements:
  • Carpentry Expertise: Extensive knowledge and experience in carpentry, specifically in the maintenance and installation of fire doors.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry or equivalent qualification.
  • City & Guilds Level 2 in Carpentry & Joinery or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within a facilities maintenance or building services environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations, especially those related to fire safety.
