About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Economist to join our team at HM Treasury, providing analytical expertise and support to critical projects across the department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for line management of one Apprentice Economist, building effective relationships with project managers, and delivering high-quality analytical projects at pace.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and developing the skills of an Apprentice Economist
  • Building relationships with project managers to ensure excellent day-to-day management and regular feedback
  • Scoping and planning analytical projects, including identifying the best analytical techniques and prioritizing work streams
  • Delivering high-quality analytical projects, working collaboratively with policy teams across HM Treasury and other Government departments
  • Communicating project conclusions to Senior Officials, Ministers, and other partners

The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a range of partners and build a large network across the department.
