About the Role

The Maintenance Engineer will be tasked with the provision of maintenance cover to the production departments, plant machinery and site facilities through the provision of effective reactive and planned preventative maintenance.

Main Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Perform reactive multi-skilled maintenance to resolve equipment breakdowns and restore production efficiency.
  • Maintain machinery to OEM specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Identify parts requiring further attention and implement corrective actions to prevent future issues.
  • Record work carried out, including maintenance activities, repairs, and replacements.
  • Control maintenance tools, store, and equipment, ensuring they are properly maintained and organized.
  • Work within ATEX regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Use problem-solving techniques to deal with breakdowns and resolve complex maintenance issues.
  • Perform electrical fault finding, testing, and repairs to ensure equipment is functioning correctly.
  • Prioritize breakdowns and allocate resources accordingly to minimize downtime.
  • Engineer out recurring issues to improve equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Supervise contractors working on reactive maintenance to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Fitting and working on bearings and rollers to maintain equipment performance.
  • Participate in projects to design, trial, and implement improvements highlighted by the Management Team.
  • Lead projects to design, trial, and implement improvements highlighted by the Management Team, working within a defined budget.
  • Engage in continuous improvement activities to enhance maintenance processes and procedures.

About You

To be considered for the role, it is essential that you possess demonstrable experience gained as a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineering professional in a manufacturing setting.

You will be a dynamic and able to work without supervision, possessing a 'see it & fix it' attitude.

  • Working knowledge of PLC's - Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Computer literate, including use of Office tools.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving.
  • Understanding of machinery and manufacturing processes.
  • Man Management.
  • Good time keeping.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Team player.
  • Meet deadlines and targets.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with relevant persons.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to a fast-changing environment.
  • Operate MEWP – preferred but not essential.
  • PASMA trained – preferred but not essential.
  • Working at height – preferred but not essential.
