About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimating Engineer to join our team at MDE Consultants Ltd. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in providing accurate and timely estimates for projects to secure profitable control and automation contracts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough technical and contractual reviews of tender enquiries to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Prepare detailed estimates using computerized estimating packages and Microsoft Word/Excel, adhering to QA procedures.
  • Obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for project estimates, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Perform detailed take-offs to provide comprehensive information for tender reviews and financial control of contracts.
  • Collaborate with internal divisions and departments to gather relevant quotations and information for tenders, fostering strong relationships and communication.
  • Attend site visits and tender review meetings with clients, both domestically and internationally, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Oversee and advise Estimating Engineers to ensure completeness and timely submission of tenders, promoting a culture of excellence and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Appropriate discipline qualifications (HNC, ONC, or City and Guilds) and considerable experience in estimating work packages to industry standards.
  • Strong knowledge of current estimating and commercial practices, with a good understanding of engineering practices and familiarity with project management principles.
  • Knowledge of HSE systems and compliance, as well as QA systems and compliance, to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels within the organization and with clients, with a high level of computer literacy and people management skills.
