Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Geo-environmental Consultant/ Hydrogeologist to join our Sustainable Land and Resource Management Practice in our Birmingham office.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be an important part of an innovative and technically excellent team helping deliver projects to a number of the largest UK-based and international infrastructure projects, including nuclear new-build.
Key Responsibilities:
- Digital Data Management: Develop and implement digital data management systems to ensure efficient and effective data collection and analysis.
- Conceptual Site Models: Create and maintain conceptual site models to support project planning and decision-making.
- Risk Assessments: Conduct qualitative and quantitative risk assessments for human health and the water environment.
- Site Investigations: Design and implement Phase 2 site investigations, including site-based work such as contractor supervision, soil sampling, and ground gas/vapour/leachate/groundwater and surface water monitoring/sampling.
- Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Policies and Procedures, including preparation of H&S Plans for site investigation and managing health and safety on site.
- Environmental Impact Assessments: Prepare relevant Environmental Impact Assessment chapters.
- Professional Development: Develop and maintain own competence and CPD necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
- Project Management: Manage own work, including supporting senior management to ensure projects are delivered on-time, on budget, and to quality and client expectations.
Requirements:
- Education: Higher education qualification in a relevant engineering or science subject (e.g. geology, geography, hydrogeology, chemistry, earth sciences, environmental science).
- Travel and Site Work: Willingness to travel and undertake site-based work across the UK.
Desirable:
- Geospatial Data Experience: Experience in working with geospatial data (GIS) using software such as QGIS and/or ArcGIS.
- Data Management Experience: Experience in managing data on large projects, especially GIS data and AGS data.
- Site-Based Work Experience: Experience in site-based work, including supervision of trial pitting, drilling, and undertaking gas/vapour/leachate/groundwater and surface water monitoring/sampling.
