Job Description

The Senior Leadership Team and Governors of Kirklees Council are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant. All candidates must display resilience and determination and understand the diverse needs of children with SEND. Experience of working within a school environment is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working under the guidance of the SENCO and the class teacher to plan and deliver activities to meet children's needs
  • Delivering one to one and/or small group support for children with complex needs in EYFS.
  • Providing personal and intimate care for a small number of children
  • Ensuring all children can access the curriculum
  • Implementing behaviour plans, ANPs, MSPs and EHCPs
  • Contributing to SEND reviews and ANP evaluations
  • Administering medication
Requirements
  • Understanding the rewards, demands and challenges of working with children with additional needs
  • Experience of working with children with autism
  • Being flexible and prepared to adapt to the changing needs of the school
  • Being an excellent role model

This post will be based in EYFS, hours are 8.30am and 3.30pm during term time.
