We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to lead our multi-skilled maintenance team at our manufacturing site in Chesterfield. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in defining and implementing our site's maintenance strategy to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance strategy to optimize plant availability, performance, and quality.
- Lead and manage the day-to-day on-site maintenance operations, providing guidance and support to the team.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and health & safety protocols in all maintenance activities.
- Manage the workload of the maintenance department, prioritizing site needs and addressing issues through effective communication and teamwork.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement throughout the plant, identifying opportunities for cost savings and driving efficiency.
- Develop and train maintenance personnel to achieve optimal operational performance, using RCA techniques to quickly identify root causes of downtime issues.
- Ensure the effective use of our CMMS system, updating TPMs and PMs regularly to prevent future downtimes.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Project Manager and Plant Manager to implement strategy, standards, and new techniques.
- Communicate effectively with maintenance departments across the organization, providing regular progress reports to the Plant Manager.
- Proven track record in a maintenance department with 5+ years of people management experience.
- Thorough understanding of the maintenance environment and best industry practices.
- Experience with maintenance techniques such as TPM, PPM, CBM, and RCM.
- Ability to quickly learn new systems and identify process improvements to prevent failures.
- Capability to multitask and make quick, effective decisions.
- Experience with CMMS systems; SAP experience is an advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving and RCA skills.
- Engineering or trade qualification with relevant industry experience.
