We are collaborating with a dynamic engineering firm specializing in high-performance vehicle development, involved in various innovative automotive and motorsport projects.
To enhance our project capabilities, we are seeking a new Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer, who possesses at least a decade of experience in intricate mechanical system design.
This position is hands-on and necessitates a strong command of CATIA, along with a readiness to engage in practical engineering tasks.
Effective communication with clients and suppliers at all levels is essential, thus candidates must exhibit strong interpersonal and project management skills.
Creative problem-solving abilities are crucial, as is the capacity to adapt designs to meet client specifications while working autonomously and in collaboration with engineering teams.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Oversight
- Lead cross-disciplinary engineering teams to successfully execute engineering initiatives
- Oversee the technical aspects of all mechanical system components within engineering projects
- Establish and unify mechanical design practices for engineering endeavors
- Formulate design specifications that align with project goals regarding budget and timeline
- Utilize CAE tools (both in-house and external) for concept and component engineering to achieve project targets
- Conduct risk assessments (DFMEA) throughout the entire project scope
- Facilitate design for manufacturing (DFM) discussions with the supplier network
- Authorize all technical engineering drawings at the Senior Engineer level
- Define testing requirements for mechanical components and systems
- Oversee the execution of mechanical component and system testing, ensuring comprehensive project validation
- Lead the mechanical system assembly process and address servicing considerations
Project Coordination
- Prepare and present project design specifications for both internal and client-facing purposes
- Manage the engineering budget for projects
- Oversee engineering resources to guarantee timely project delivery
- Control the project bill of materials and manage engineering change processes
- Facilitate project design reviews for both internal and client-facing stakeholders
- Conduct project cost and timeline reviews for internal and client-facing purposes
- Ensure project delivery aligns with the operational team of the company
Team Development
- Assist in the management and development of junior engineers and graduate team members
- Support the organization in promotional activities, including technology exhibitions, industry trade shows, and STEM initiatives
