Job Summary

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Accounting Assistant to join our team. As an Accounting Assistant, you will be responsible for providing financial support to our clients, including weekly reconciliation and sales data collation, as well as working closely with management teams to provide financial insights and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Weekly reconciliation and sales data collation, including posting of cash statements
  • Work closely with management teams to provide financial insights and support
  • Own and manage quarterly financial performance meetings with management, challenge performance, and provide key action points for follow-up
  • Own and be responsible for the completion and production of financial reports to be sent to our clients monthly
  • Work closely with administrators to ensure they provide the correct information for reconciliation by specified deadlines
  • Undertake all other accounting tasks, including accounting for plan deficits and plan excesses
  • Own the monthly Management Accounts Reporting function, ensuring that periodic deadlines are met and that output is maintained to high standards
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations, reconciliation of debtors, and Bad Debt Provision creation and posting
  • Credit control, providing evidence for any debts to be written off and liaison with external debt management companies
  • Assist the Finance Manager with budget preparation and quarterly re-forecasting
  • Assist Financial Processing Team Managers in reconciliation and resolution of queries
  • Shared ownership of the cash management system closed-down procedure on a weekly basis and flash sales reporting

Requirements

  • Full right-to-work in the UK, with prior experience in a similar role
  • AAT Qualified or QBE
  • Studying towards ACCA/CIMA (desirable)
  • Proficient in the use of Excel, supported by generally high volumes of IT literacy
