Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety strategies to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide expert advice to governance forums and committees on health and safety matters.
  • Lead the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to occupational health and safety.
  • Collaborate with external regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with statutory duties and best practice standards.
  • Provide senior leadership and strategic direction for the occupational health and safety function.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as occupational health and safety, ergonomics, or risk management.
  • Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of health and safety principles and practices.
  • Extensive senior management experience in a large, complex organization, preferably in the NHS or public sector.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
