About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursery Team Leader to join our team at Nursery People. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of our nursery settings, ensuring that the highest quality childcare is provided to all children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and management to the team, ensuring that all staff are supported and empowered to deliver exceptional care and education.
  • Act as a role model for the Early Years team, ensuring that the EYFS is implemented and followed to an exemplary standard.
  • Support the management team with the implementation of our performance management cycle, carrying out supervisions and appraisals as required.
  • Lead show rounds for prospective parents, presenting an excellent image of the nursery and engaging with prospective parents.
  • Identify training needs and support the development of the team, ensuring that all staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality care and education.
  • Be the first point of contact for any staffing matters or requests, providing excellent customer service and support.
  • Be involved in the recruitment of staff, including shortlisting and interviewing.
  • Take responsibility for team members' induction and probation, ensuring that all new staff are fully supported and integrated into the team.
  • Support the management team with invoicing and payroll queries, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Take responsibility for the staffing rota, ensuring that all staff are scheduled to work in a fair and equitable manner.
Requirements
  • Experience of leading a team in a nursery setting and dealing with all staff matters.
  • Full and relevant Early Years qualification, ideally a higher Early Years qualification.
  • Full understanding and working knowledge of the EYFS.
  • Full understanding of the Ofsted inspection framework.
  • Comprehensive understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • Understanding of safeguarding policies and implementation.
  • Valid DBS check.
  • Management qualification, or interest in attaining one.
