About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients in accordance with venepuncture, infection control, and laboratory policies and procedures.

Main Responsibilities

  • Collect blood samples from patients in a safe and efficient manner
  • Work effectively with medical staff and patients to ensure smooth sample collection
  • Complete and pass an in-house venepuncture competency programme
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor at all times

Person Specification

  • Hold a valid venepuncture study day certificate recognised by the Institute of Phlebotomists
  • Good level of general education
  • Ability to pass the in-house competency-based phlebotomy assessment
