The ideal candidate will possess experience in the HGV sector or a related field, such as automotive, agricultural, plant, heavy machinery, or quarrying industries. A solid understanding of the technical aspects of these vehicles, including common issues, components, and challenges, is essential.

As a Workshop Controller, your daily responsibilities will include liaising with clients and engineers to deliver exceptional customer service. You will authorize repairs and maintenance for the company's equipment while effectively managing the schedules of the Service Engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with workshop procedures for each task.
  • Receive job requests from service reception, estimate time requirements, and allocate tasks to technicians to optimize productivity and monitor job status.
  • Obtain approval for any additional work needed, either through service reception or directly from clients.
  • Oversee MOT procedures to guarantee high-quality workmanship and achieve a superior first-time pass rate.
  • Ensure complete sign-off on inspections, safeguarding the customer's Operator's license.
  • Identify warranty items for each job, ensure replaced parts are documented, complete necessary paperwork, and forward it for further processing.

Candidate Profile:

  • Experience in HGV, automotive, heavy machinery, agricultural equipment, and static plant.
  • Previous roles as a Workshop Controller, Service Controller, Technical Service Controller, or HGV Engineer.
  • Possession of a full driving license.
