Position Overview: Due to ongoing expansion, we are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to support a prominent client in the UK Nuclear Sector on a long-term contract.

This role necessitates Security Clearance, with the potential to achieve higher-level clearance. The position offers a flexible work arrangement, requiring a minimum of two days in the office every two weeks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute significantly to the design and implementation of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems across various nuclear initiatives.
  • Manage design documentation and supervise commissioning processes, ensuring compliance with functional safety standards.
  • Develop CE&I design concepts, including Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), Block Cable Diagrams (BCDs), cable schedules, and layouts.
  • Possess expertise in control system hardware and software, with a solid background in Functional Safety (BSEN 61508).
  • Maintain Technical Files and Life Time Quality Records (LTQR) in accordance with Quality Management Systems.
  • Utilize AutoCAD for interpreting and producing EC&I engineering drawings.
  • Compile and oversee design and engineering documentation for internal approvals and client presentations.
  • Foster effective relationships across departments and stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Address client inquiries and support tender and contract evaluations with technical and commercial insights.
  • Assist in preparing tender responses, cost estimates, and contract modifications.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Engineering Degree, HNC, or equivalent experience - Essential
  • IOSH Managing Safely or Level 2 Health & Safety in the Workplace or equivalent
  • Extensive engineering experience in design and manufacturing - Essential
  • Expertise in electrical systems design, low voltage control gear, and control systems - Essential
  • Familiarity with drawing principles, CE marking, AutoCAD - Desirable
  • Knowledge of machine safety directives, functional safety, HAZOP/HAZID - Desirable
