About the Role

The Process and Project Engineer will report to the Project and Process Lead. Initially, the focus will be on implementing 'in-flight' projects and providing technical expertise in the troubleshooting and optimization of multiple process unit operations. There is also an opportunity to be involved in concept through detailed design of engineering and process improvement projects. On a daily basis, the engineer will collaborate closely with colleagues from Engineering, Production, Quality, and HSE teams at Menstrie. There will also be direct interaction with suppliers and central functions in the group to ensure that the projects are delivered in accordance with the agreed specifications, on time, within budget, and with safety built in as standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for Process Optimization (OEE Improvement, Yield Improvement, NPI) of key site unit operations: solid-Liq Extraction;
  • Support Operator capability building, through process cross-functional SOP creation, training, and knowledge sharing;
  • Support process and project lead with special tasks and actions;
  • Developing and delivering multiple capital projects simultaneously;
  • Creates Project Plans and harnesses resources to ensure project milestones are met within expectations of timeline, quality, and budget;
  • Managing contractors and supporting safe systems of work (PTW, Confined Spaces, Working at Height etc.);
  • Improvement and development of project engineering procedures;
Qualifications and Skills
  • Degree in Engineering (Chemical and Process);
  • Several years of progressive experience work in plant maintenance, manufacturing engineering, or process engineering in food manufacturing or alternative heavily regulated environment (e.g. Pharma manufacturing, etc.);
  • Knowledge of HACCP and hygienic engineering (EHEDG or 3A);
  • Experience with Food manufacturing unit operations:;
  • Experience in managing and executing capital projects £50k - £500k from design through to commissioning;
