Job Title: CNC Miller Setter

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

Hours: 8.00am-4.30pm Monday to Thursday and from 8.00am-1.00pm on Fridays

Location: Abingdon

Salary: £17 - £19 per hour

A skilled CNC Miller Setter is required for a major supplier to high-tech companies in the UK's Oxford/Cambridge Arc of Innovation and Technology. Supplying to Nuclear fusion, Space Technologies, Medical innovation, F1 and many other demanding industries.

We are seeking a skilled candidate with experience of multi-axis CNC Machining, and Quality inspection including use of CMM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • CNC Machining, and setting
  • Operation of 3,4 & 5 axis CNC milling machines
  • Performing CMM inspection and production of inspection reports when required
  • Using initiative to improve quality/throughput etc
  • Working to scheduled lists
  • Operate within a 5's manufacturing environment and to ISO 9001 :2015 quality standards

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience of Fanuc controls or similar
  • Experience of working with a variety of materials to tight tolerances
  • Thorough experience of multi-axis CNC machining
  • Use of inspection tools (able to perform 100% inspection) and CMM desirable
  • Thorough experience of reading & interpreting component drawings and instructions Working to high quality standards
  • Programming – Advantageous

Qualifications:

  • Engineering apprenticeship desirable
  • National Engineering Technical certificate
  • NVQ's or City and Guilds
