Job Description:Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Social Worker to join our Fostering Team in Durham. As a Social Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children and families in foster care. Your expertise will directly impact the lives of children and families, and you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in your community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of potential foster carers and prepare reports for fostering panels.
- Match children with suitable foster carers and oversee the placement process.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals, including social workers, health professionals, and educators, to ensure the well-being of children in foster care.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to fostering and child care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, placements, and ongoing support.
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
- Proven experience in a social work role, preferably within fostering or children's services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with foster carers, children, and professionals.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to fostering and child care.
