Lead Safety Engineering Specialist

Your Role

  • Innovate and develop advanced safety engineering methodologies to address contemporary challenges in autonomous vehicle safety.
  • Ensure compliance of Oxa's products with relevant safety engineering standards, including ISO 26262, ISO/DIS 21448, and other emerging regulations.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the safety engineering process and related activities throughout the concept phase, system design, and software development.
  • Establish and execute the verification and validation strategy for system safety, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Plan, monitor, and report on the safety progress of assigned projects, generating comprehensive safety cases and recommending enhancements as necessary.
  • Conduct safety analyses at both system and software levels utilizing established engineering techniques such as FTA, FMEA, STPA, and DFA.
  • Identify and articulate safety requirements, assisting in the formulation of test cases and validation criteria.
  • Coordinate and manage safety requirements from clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide support to cross-functional teams on safety engineering topics.
  • Assist in internal and external safety assessments and audits.
  • Engage in the ongoing development of a safety leadership culture within Oxa.

Requirements

What you need to succeed:

  • A robust understanding and enthusiasm for safety principles.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing functional safety and/or SOTIF.
  • Proven background in safety engineering and autonomous vehicle operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of current safety standards, including ISO 26262, PAS 21448, ISO TS 5083, or similar.
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach to communication.

Extra kudos:

  • Experience with the complete safety engineering lifecycle.
  • Prior involvement in vehicle autonomy or advanced ADAS programs (L3).
  • A background in Software Engineering or Robotics.
