Senior Covenant Analyst

Covenant Review is seeking a seasoned leveraged finance lawyer to join our leveraged loans team as a Senior Covenant Analyst. The role involves writing research reports on broadly syndicated and private credit leveraged loan covenants, assisting with preparation of private credit portfolio analyses and data reports, and writing event-driven research and reports on special situations as they develop in the market.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Write research reports on leveraged loan covenants, following a name from cradle to grave.
  • Assist with preparation of private credit portfolio analyses and data reports.
  • Write event-driven research and reports on special situations in the market.
  • Write research for our growing library of covenant primers targeted at less sophisticated subscribers.
  • Engage with subscribers seeking clarification on research or discussing potential transactions.
  • Establish credibility in the market as a subject matter expert on leveraged finance.
  • Meet tight deadlines for publication.
Requirements:
  • Senior lawyer with extensive experience drafting, negotiating, and reviewing leveraged finance documentation.
  • City Law Firm experience in leveraged finance.
  • Deep understanding of the leveraged finance market and how covenants and financial definitions work in leveraged finance documents.
  • Law degree and practicing Solicitor in England & Wales.
  • Solid business acumen with commercial sensibilities.
  • Experience communicating with business principals on complex leveraged finance issues.
  • Experience working on deadline.
