We are seeking a highly motivated and responsible individual to join our team as a Playground Assistant. This is a part-time position, working 12.5 hours per week during term-time only.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the safety and supervision of pupils in the playground, maintaining a secure and inclusive environment.
- Respond to incidents in the playground, providing first aid and reporting any concerns to the relevant authorities.
- Record and report any behavioural concerns, adhering to our positive behaviour ethos.
- Monitor and report any unsafe playground conditions and equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Administer first aid for minor injuries, maintaining a first aid kit and adhering to protocols.
- Take any serious injuries to the first aider, documenting incidents in the accident book.
- Communicate with class teachers and parents regarding injuries, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection policies.
- Report to the first aider if stocks of first aid materials run low, ensuring adequate supplies.
- Clean and change children who have had accidents, maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
- Assist children in putting away apparatus, ensuring the playground is returned to a tidy state.
- Engage with pupils during break times, promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
- Read and enforce relevant policies, adhering to the school's Safeguarding policy and WCPS golden rules.
- Commit to professional development, undertaking training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Work collaboratively with staff and pupils, fostering good working relationships and promoting a positive school culture.
- Ability to work part-time, 12.5 hours per week during term-time only.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekdays and occasional weekends.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, communicating effectively with colleagues and pupils.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, adhering to school policies and procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection policies.
- Basic first aid training and knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Monday to Friday, 12pm – 2.35pm.
- 12.5 hours per week during term-time only.
- Circa £6487 per annum, pro rata holiday and statutory English Bank Holidays.
