Headway Adolescent Resources has built a strong reputation in the residential childcare sector, dedicated to understanding and supporting young individuals as unique persons, regardless of their backgrounds.

We are seeking Residential Childcare Workers to join our dedicated team in our residential facilities.

Job Purpose:

In this role, you will be based in a children's residential home, engaging with young people exhibiting challenging behaviors. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, resilient, honest, and well-organized, committed to delivering high-quality childcare to facilitate the best possible outcomes for the young individuals.

This is a permanent position offering excellent career advancement opportunities and a thorough training program within a growing organization. The role involves an average of hours per week, following a shift pattern of days on and days off, including sleep-ins. Additionally, you will be entitled to generous allowances for bank holidays, overtime, and a performance-related bonus scheme.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience working with challenging youth, preferably in a residential environment (not mandatory)
  • Qualification at QCF level in Children and Young People, or willingness to pursue this qualification with full funding provided.
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and maintain organized records.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive team-oriented attitude.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Capability to complete daily records in compliance with statutory and policy requirements.
  • Empathetic disposition.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills across various contexts.
  • Ability to engage, motivate, and inspire young people.
  • Full manual driving license is essential.
