We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join our team at The Nurtury Day Nursery & Pre-School. As a key member of our nursery, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care and education to children aged 0-5 years.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver and ensure a high standard of learning, development, and care for children aged 0-5 years.
  • Support the room manager with the daily running of the room, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children, staff, and others.
  • Develop partnerships with parents/carers to increase involvement in their child's development, fostering a collaborative approach to education.
  • Take on the role of being a key person, observing, assessing, and planning for each individual child, tailoring their care to meet their unique needs.
Duties:
  • Work as part of the team within your room and within the wider setting, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Support the room manager with the effective daily running of your room, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Have a sound knowledge of company policies, procedures, and expectations, upholding the highest standards of care and education.
  • Act as an excellent role model to the staff team and children, demonstrating a commitment to excellence in all aspects of your work.
  • Take responsibility for excellent hygiene, health, and safety, and security practice within the nursery, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all.
  • Play a part in planning and providing appropriate daily activities in line with guidance from the EYFS for your key children, promoting a love of learning and exploration.
  • Uphold the highest level of safeguarding practice and ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to at all times, prioritizing the well-being and safety of children.
  • Carry out observation, assessment, and planning in your room, with your key children, ensuring all children are making progress and achieving their full potential.
  • Work with outside professionals where required, building strong relationships and partnerships to support the needs of children and families.
  • Work closely with parents and create trusting relationships with all families, fostering a sense of community and partnership in education.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum level 3 in early years or equivalent, demonstrating a strong foundation in early years education and care.
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Sector, including the EYFS and its principles.
  • Good standard of English and Maths at GCSE A-C or equivalent, ensuring effective communication and record-keeping.
  • Paediatric first aid (if the qualification was obtained after 2016), demonstrating a commitment to child safety and well-being.
  • Experience of working in a nursery or similar environment, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality care and education.
  • Experience of being a key person, with a strong understanding of child development and learning.
  • Some knowledge of the Early Years Foundation stage, including its principles and practices.
  • Experience of working in a team, with a proven ability to collaborate and communicate effectively.
