Position: Senior Project Manager

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days in the office)

We are excited to present an opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Avionics (AVS) UK team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all phases of project management during bidding and contract execution, ensuring adherence to established processes and best practices.
  • Report on project progress and activities to senior management as required.
  • Lead and manage a high-performing project team, including resource profiling.
  • Implement and maintain comprehensive project management elements, including integration, value, scope, quality, procurement, time, finance, human resources, risk, opportunities, and communications.
  • Strive to meet and enhance project cost and working capital budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with company processes and legal requirements for the export of goods and services.
  • Develop and review project plans and estimates for bids.
  • Manage work packages, including monthly reporting and maintenance of a project risk register.
  • Engage with multiple stakeholders (internal and external) throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support the bid team in the capture lead role as necessary.
  • Collaborate across various support functions to ensure effective teamwork in achieving business and project objectives.
  • Contribute to change initiatives and process improvements within the project environment.
  • Exemplify behavior consistent with Thales' core values.
  • Maintain an ethical approach to business in line with Thales' ethics policy.

About You:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Programme/Project Manager with a solid understanding of project integration, value, scope, quality, procurement, time, finance, risk, opportunities, and communications.
  • Proven track record of customer-focused project delivery.
  • Familiarity with various support models, from basic to complex, to meet customer needs.
  • Understanding of Through Life Support activities, including DRACAS, obsolescence, and asset modeling.
  • Strong background in risk management.
  • Engineering knowledge, including software, hardware, and systems engineering.
  • Essential commercial awareness, with experience in contract management and negotiations being advantageous.
  • Hands-on experience in project control, financial reporting, budgeting, process development, lean manufacturing, quality, or environmental management.
