We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Consultant Medical Oncologist to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279). The successful candidate will have a strong interest in Lung Cancer, Skin Cancers, and Oncotoxicity (including immunotherapy toxicity).
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality clinical care to patients with cancer, including regular outpatient clinics, MDM attendance, SACT prescribing, and clinical supervision of non-medical staff.
- Contribute to the development of the oncology service, including service developments, ward reviews, and on-call commitments.
- Participate in teaching and supervision of medical students, junior medical staff, and AHP/nurses.
- Engage in clinical cancer research and contribute to the development of new treatments and therapies.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Lung and Skin site reference group and the Oncotoxicity and Immunotherapy Service (OTIS).
- Basic medical degree and MB BS, FRCR or equivalent specialist qualification.
- Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice and CCT in clinical oncology or equivalent.
- Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the appointment.
- Experience and ability to work in multi-professional teams and understanding of NHS and clinical governance principles.
- Interest and commitment to teaching, participation in audit, and evidence of managerial skills.
