Senior Analyst - Financial Reporting and Accounting

The successful candidate will be tasked with overseeing the financial accounting and reporting functions for the AXA XL ILS Capital Management, Ceded reinsurance, and Alternative Capital vehicles. This role involves providing comprehensive analysis to stakeholders and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of both internal and external reporting. Maintaining effective communication across all management levels regarding Ceded Reinsurance is essential. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and demonstrate initiative and accountability in their work.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the preparation of annual audited and/or unaudited financial statements for stakeholders.
  • Contributing to the preparation of Monthly/Quarterly Financial Statements for stakeholders.
  • Aiding in the calculation of NAV and its submission to stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with external auditors and addressing year-end audit inquiries.
  • Organizing the preparation, review, and settlement of bordereau reports.
  • Supporting the ongoing development and enhancement of financial reporting for Ceded Re and Alternative Capital.
  • Conducting thorough analysis of ceded variances against Budget, Forecast, and other Internal Reporting.
  • Fostering collaborative relationships across various teams, including Operations, Ceded Re, and Divisional Finance.
  • Demonstrating effective organizational and planning skills to enhance productivity and efficiency.

You will report directly to the Senior Manager of Financial Reporting and Accounting, Ceded Reinsurance.

Required Skills and Qualifications

We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
  • CPA or equivalent accounting designation.
  • Experience in auditing large corporations, particularly in reinsurance companies, or relevant experience in reinsurance accounting.
  • Familiarity with Ceded Reinsurance and ILS is advantageous.
  • A strong willingness and ability to work extended hours during peak periods.
  • A proactive approach to challenges as they arise.
  • Proven ability to multitask with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with all organizational levels.
  • A collaborative team player who contributes positively to the culture of Ceded Re.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a results-driven mindset.
